TWHBEA: Opening night of the TWHBEA Celebration started with the Futurity classes. The Who is Who of walking horses will compete in each competition so Charlene Carson and I were more than nervous and excited about the fact that one of our foals was nice enough to make enter into this competition. For those of you who are like myself and have been around Tennessee Walking Horses for several years and bred horses for even a short while know that there is "everything" to learn. Therefore, it did not bother me in the least bit to ask What is the Futurity and How do we enter "if" we evern are eligible?

The short answer is actually the only answer. Simply register your horse in the Futurity when sending the papers in!  The mare has to be nominated which you can do and the sire as well that year. Total cost is minimal and allows your foals access to competition for "Futurity Only" classes where the dollars submitted for the year are utilized as the prize money.

Carson's Snazz 9 was an exceptional stud colt which was immediately evident when he was born with legs that seemed to go on forever. His conformation is also amazing and we made the decision to enroll him in the TWHBEA Futurity for that reason and because as fate would have it, we bred his dam The Sywatch Girl to Gen's Armed & Dangerous as The Whole Nine Yards was removed from service for the year by his owner. New Horizon Farm is where Armed is stabled at and the owners Mike and Christy were extremely helpful making it easy to decide to have Snazz9 compete in weanling classes.

He was shown at the International Walking Horse Show as a 3 month old and took 7th and 8th in those classes then was awarded 10th. It was exciting to watch him compete but he took it in stride completely showing well in the walking in hand portion then blowing the lineup as he simply would not stand still parked out long enough.
